What is Reiki?
Reiki is a natural healing system designed to assist in healing and help achieve balance. Reiki is administered by a trained practitioner, who serves as a conduit for the flow of Universal Life Energy to the recipient, by either hands-on or distance healing techniques.

How does Reiki energy flow?
Reiki flows through the palms to the recipient. Reiki energy is an "intelligent" energy and will increase or decrease as needed as well as go where it is needed most in the body.

How can I experience Reiki?
The best way is to find a practitioner you are comfortable with and have a full-body Reiki treatment. Most people find it to be extremely relaxing and stress relieving.

Is Reiki a type of faith healing?
No, Reiki is not a religion, nor is it based on the acceptance of any religious doctrine. Reiki works whether you believe it or not. The Reiki principles are of a spiritual nature and do encourage spiritual empowerment and growth. Reiki is for everyone and is available to anyone.

Who can benefit from a Reiki treatment?
Anyone and everyone (including pets!) can benefit from Reiki!

What does Reiki feel like?
Common Reiki sensations are heat or coolness, tingling, deep healing rest, numbness, and drowsiness.

How do I know Reiki works?
Some people are more receptive to energy and will actually "feel" the Reiki. Others don't feel anything when receiving Reiki. However, the majority of people report experiencing a sense of deep relaxation during and  after their session, which is in itself a benefit.  For more information, please see the testimonials page.

As I mentioned earlier, Reiki is an "intelligent" energy and works whether you believe it will or not.  It also goes where it's needed and is not dependent on where the practitioner actually places their hands.

How is a Practitioner trained?
Practitioners are trained by Reiki Masters who pass the Reiki energy to them through special rituals known as attunements. There are three basic levels of Reiki. Level I, II and Reiki Master.

What is the purpose of the Reiki hand placements?
The hand placements are designed to cover all the seven chakra's as well as the entire endocrine system. The amount of time spent in each of the 12-20 placements will usually last from 3 to 5 minutes, sometimes longer if needed and sometimes shorter.
